Originally established in 2001, as Osozaki Foundation, founder Brad Zenger serves as President. Founding Directors David Reichle serves as Treasurer and Brenda Melum as Secretary. Brief biographies of the Directors are included below.
- Bradley A. Zenger
- Brad Zenger is a Founder and Managing Director of Pivotal Investments, the Northwest's first venture capital firm enabling the sustainable economy through a disciplined, early stage investment approach that recognizes exceptional value today and tomorrow. The sustainable economy is characterized by a dramatic shift in the demand for clean energy, safe water, clean air, "green" materials and healthy food.
- Prior to founding Pivotal Investments, Brad Zenger, along with four others, founded Pixelworks in 1997. Pixelworks is a fabless semiconductor company that targeted the rapidly growing market for advanced display products such as Flat Panel TV's and Digital Projectors. From its inception, Brad ran Marketing & Sales where revenues reached $140M in 2003. The company conducted an IPO in May of 2000 and is listed on the NASDAQ under the symbol: PXLW. Brad left Pixelworks in 2004 to pursue new personal and professional opportunities.
- Brad has been a member of the Board of Councilors for the China-U.S. Center for Sustainable Development, where his most recent focus had been evaluating the opportunity for local biofuels and renewable energy development in China. Brad began his career as a naval submarine officer after graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Following his military duty, Brad received his MBA from Santa Clara University.
- David Reichle
- David is President and Chief Investment Office for Pacific Investment Advisors. Prior to founding the firm, David was an investment consultant with the brokerage firm of Dean Witter Reynolds and a Vice President of Bank of America Oregon. David earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of Delaware. He is active in community organizations and serves as a Director of Ecoworks Foundation. He is a member of the Portland Society of Financial Analysts.
- Brenda Melum
- Brenda Melum is currently a Programs Manager with Mentor Graphics, a high technology company that develops software for the Electronic Design Automation market. Brenda is responsible for relationships with Mentor Graphics hardware and operating system vendors that include Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems, Intel, AMD and others. Prior to joining Mentor Graphics in 1999, Brenda spent 10 years with In Focus Systems, a maker of digital projection equipment, in Business Development, Channel Sales, Channel Marketing and Trade Show and Event Management. During this time, the business grew from $10M in sales to over $300M.
- Brenda has a B.S. in Business and Economics and a Masters of Business Administration from George Fox University. She is a Director of Ecoworks Foundation, recently served as the 2002-2003 President of the George Fox University Alumni Association and is a principal sponsor of a community based education initiative, Tools for Schools, which provides backpacks of schools supplies to 5000+ children in the Portland Public School District. Additionally Brenda has spent the past 10 years involved in leadership and values mentoring programs with young adults ages 14-21.
